As part of our increasing commitment to all aspects of ESG, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our growing team. Alongside the Director, ESG, the incoming Project Manager will be responsible for executing the company's renewable energy strategy as well as overseeing and implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) projects and initiatives. This individual will play a crucial role in managing our solar energy projects from conception to completion. In addition, they will support sustainable building certifications, efficiency projects, and other ESG initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities of this role will include strategy development, project planning and coordination, data collection and reporting, research, stakeholder engagement and regulatory compliance.

  • Manage the continued evolution and execution of Cabot Properties' renewable energy strategy including identifying, developing, and negotiating rooftop solar projects to support the company's business goals.
  • Collaborate with external consultants as well as internal departments (Finance, Asset Management, Investor Relations) to implement ESG-related projects.
  • Support additional ESG initiatives focused on commercial real estate buildings and portfolios such as sustainable building certifications (BREEAM, LEED, etc.), efficiency projects, and climate risk assessments.
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of ESG-related data to monitor performance against established sustainability initiatives and goals. Prepare regular reports to communicate progress and status of associated metrics to leadership and investors.
  • Perform research and modeling in Excel to determine the size of the opportunity, competitive analysis, and financial pricing strategy associated with ESG concepts.
  • Research, evaluate, and coordinate implementation of technical innovations and latest trends as well as incorporate best practices for sustainable initiatives..
  • Stay informed of technical, market and regulatory developments in the renewable energy industry and communicate key trends, risks, and potential impacts to management.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, environmental science, sustainability related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-10 years of experience in commercial real estate in property management, construction project management or related field.
  • LEED Green Associate or willingness to obtain this certification soon after employment.
  • CEM preferred.
  • Solar or renewable energy experience is required
  • Experience working with detailed financial models of renewable energy projects, identifying key risks and sensitivities, and leading all related due diligence efforts (financial, commercial, technical and development).
  • Experience with utilities and ESPM benchmarking preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and consultants preferred.
  • Knowledge of sustainability/ESG reporting standards and frameworks as well as benchmarking platforms such as GRESB, UNPRI, GRI, SASB, TCFD, is preferred.
  • Proficiency in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager software preferred
  • Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint required
