How You'll Perform the Role

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the plant warehouse, distribution center (shipping department), including transportation requirements. He/she will manage a team of direct reports to coordinate the movement of finished goods through the warehouse, rotating the finished goods inventory, and picking/packing/shipping the finished goods in compliance with company and customer requirements. Additionally, the Warehouse Manager is responsible for the organizational layout, receiving activities for raw materials delivered to the plant warehouse and the distribution center, and the return to inventory process to ensure inventory accuracy. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for maintaining the safety, security, sanitation and cleanliness of the warehouse, docks and all related equipment. He/she will direct activities to limit costs, improve accuracy, and maintain exceptional customer service.

  • Utilize warehouse and inventory data from the AX system to improve operational efficiency and drive cost reductions.
  • Oversee the process for the physical receiving of inventory and MRO items and ensure information is posted daily in the AX system.
  • Implement and assure all company safety programs and policies are followed.
  • Handling of warehouse personnel including scheduling and timecard management/audits, disciplinary actions, performance reviews, training, quality, PPE compliance for entire department, GMP's and food safety coaching/training and handling of grievances and goals.
  • Implement optimal layout of raw materials and finished goods, utilizing velocity metrics to improve material flow, in an ERP environment.
  • Monitor and administer all backorders and substitutions including communication to customer service.
  • Consistently review data from the ERP system for order consolidation opportunities to reduce freight costs and maximize monthly sales.
  • Daily verification and reconciliation of production.
  • Coordinate and manage a daily cycle counting process to ensure an accurate perpetual inventory. Weekly, Monthly, and annual inventory of all goods finished/raw/supplies including routine audits of all areas to ensure inventory controls remain intact.
  • Order all materials and supplies for the warehouse and shipping department.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally to direct reports, upper management, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Work closely with a cross functional team/environment.

What We Need From You

  • Bachelor's degree in distribution, logistics, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience as a Warehouse Manager
  • WMS Experience Preferred and strongly encouraged.
  • Strong computer literacy with Windows, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, and Internet.
  • AX system experience preferred.
  • Experience operating forklift equipment is preferred.
  • High level of discretion, confidentiality, and work ethics.
  • Ability to successfully multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be certified in CPR, First Aid and Blood borne Pathogens. (this is not required)
