Medical Director - Part Time-329168
Description
Position Summary:
The Medical Director will develop, implement, sustain and expand the Evercare primary care clinical model at the site, either in nursing facilities or in the community. The Medical Director is responsible for activities primarily focusing on support of the Care Coordination nurses in daily review activities and external interaction and communication with network physicians.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conducts daily and ongoing clinical review and evaluation of clinical care and services provided to plan members.
  • Conducts provider telephonic review and discussion, schedules on-site visits, and shares tools, information and guidelines related to quality, cost-effective health care delivery and quality of care.
  • Conduct daily conferences (rounding) with Care Coordination team to identify delays in care, facilitate discharge planning, and develop follow up action to address care coordination issues.
  • Leads the credentialing and peer review process through the Medical Advisory Committee.
  • Monitors utilization reports, identifying changes in utilization or access patterns and monitor overall trends on a weekly basis.
  • Contributes to development of Medical Expense Action plans to implement strategic initiatives and tactics to address areas of concern and monitors progress towards goals.
  • Supports plan accreditation efforts as determined by Quality Management and Accreditation Team.
  • Supports sales and marketing efforts through customer presentations related to care coordination process.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • 5 years clinical practice experience
  • Unrestricted Medical Licensed Physician required
  • Board Certified in ABMS specialty required
Additional Assets Preferred:
  • Experience in clinical geriatrics in a community based and chronic disease management preferred.
  • Board Certified in Geriatrics preferred. Internal Medicine or Family Medicine would be considered as well
  • Administrative and/or Managed Care experience preferred.
  • Geriatric Fellowship training, Certified Medical Director (CMD), Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Geriatric Medicine, prior experience with NP/PA
