Position Description

Guest Services and Retail Advisor Position
 
Purpose of Position: To maximize retail sales within the Aveda Environment Lifestyle Store while exceeding the expectations of the customer.
 
Description of Duties:

Sales Management

  • Track retail sales against goal using the system provided.
  • Ensure highest levels of customer service, which will result in increased productivity.
  • Assist in the planning, preparation and execution of cost effective Lifestyle Workshops and events to generate volume.
  • Knowledge of class levels and what services those levels have the ability of performing.
  • Continually check each class level for appointment openings and report to the check in desk so that we may accommodate walk-in clients.
  • Utilize and maintain customer database for phone calls, product launches, events, and appointments.

Leadership

  • Present a positive attitude toward the company, product and staff.
  • Present a professional appearance and maintain Aveda’s unified look at all times.
  • Perform Value Added Services on all customers.
  • Serve as a resource for general product knowledge to all customers and staff members.
  • Coordinate a smooth flow of the complete client experience, from the time the client checks in to the time they leave the Institute.
  • Maintain a high level of communication with the clinic floor educators to ensure the proper distribution of service tickets.
  • Attend training, education, and meeting as required.

Operations

  • Adhere to policies and procedures of the store.
  • Assist in the preparation and completion of accurate physical inventory as requested.
  • Answer a high volume of incoming calls, scheduling appointments and providing technical service/general information.
  • Ensure maximum booking through knowledge of student availability at all times.
  • Check in and assist clients.
  • Resolve client challenges.
  • Maintain computer and cash register daily to ensure the balance of the register at the end of the night.
  • Maintain daily/weekly reports of team services, client records, walk-ins and re-dos.

Merchandise Management

  • Follow and implement all visual presentation and standard guidelines.
  • Enforce and maintain the highest visual standards including displays, signage, lighting and props.
  • Solicit and communicate product feedback from staff and customers to Team Leader.
  • Manage the flow of merchandise from stock areas to the selling floor in a timely and organized manner.
  • Other duties as assigned and/or required.

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Cosmetology license a plus
  • 2-3 years retail experience
  • Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively
