Job Summary: Responsible for the execution and on-going management of operational excellence initiatives utilizing Six Sigma and Lean methodologies. Manage cross-functional project teams to evaluate business processes and determine initiatives that will provide greater productivity and efficiency and enable increased growth. A primary responsibility will be to facilitate Six Sigma and Lean events and follow-up activities targeted toward increasing revenue, optimizing cycle time, reducing defect rates, and/or improving customer satisfaction Essential Job Functions: * Understand the business in order to recommend improved, strategic, measurable and sustainable solutions as well as identify further opportunities for improvement o Six Sigma/Lean Deployment o Assist champions, business owners and process owners with identifying, scoping, and financially justifying projects that align with the business strategic plan o Act as change agent to foster a customer centric quality culture throughout the organization and drive measurable product and process improvements * Project Execution o Lead strategic, cross functional, complex process improvements projects targeted toward increasing revenue, optimizing cycle time, reducing defect rates, and/or improving customer satisfaction o Recommend improved, strategic, measurable and sustainable solutions as well as identify further opportunities for improvement o Apply project management techniques to ensure on-time, high-quality deliverables o Utilize appropriate mechanisms to manage and track initiatives, ensuring benefits are realized o Continued follow-up with project teams to improvement activities are on track, providing coaching and direction to ensure goals are achieved * Coaching, Training and Mentoring o Act as a mentor, Trainer, Coach, and technical leader in the deployment of Operational Excellence using Six Sigma and Lean methodologies o Provide expertise and share best practices regarding Six Sigma and Lean tools & methodologies, project management and team leadership o Responsible for mentorship, evaluations, conflict resolution and recognition of the staff to maintain highly motivated and engaged employees.
Other Duties and Responsibilities: * Deliver Lean Sigma training as required * Manage several Continuous Improvement Black Belts * Report progress in Strategy Deployment and KPI Reviews
Position Requirements
Qualifications: * Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt Certification * 10 years of professional work experience in Engineering and/or Supply Chain Operations * 5 years experience as a Black Belt leading LEAN or Six Sigma (DMAIC, DFSS) process/product improvement projects and quality initiatives * 5 years experience directing teams Education: * A bachelors degree Engineering, Science or Business - Required * Engineering or Business Master’s degree preferred * Lean/Six Sigma Master Black Belt Certification - Required Required Experience: (minimum 15 years experience) * 10 years experience in Engineering and/or Supply Chain Operations * 5 years experience as a Black Belt * 5 years of experience as a Master Black Belt Preferred Experience: * High Tech engineering and manufacturing experience Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities * Well-developed leadership and project management capabilities with demonstrated success completing multiple cross-functional and cross-business projects * Proven track record of financial savings resulting from the application of the LEAN or Six Sigma methodologies and effective change management. * Ability to negotiate and influence key personnel across multiple business units and geographies, while influencing positive change through awareness, understanding, acceptance and engagement * Excellent analytical skills with a strong working knowledge of problem solving, root cause analysis, and associated solution implementation * Ability to work independently and/or effectively with diverse, global, cross cultural teams * Strong facilitation, oral communication, presentation and written communication skills. * Strong business acumen * PC proficiency in Microsoft Office, MiniTab and Visio
